Software Engineer (Banking) – San Francisco, CA

Our client, a reputable and leading bank, is seeking a new Software Engineer.  This role is responsible for building and maintaining customized applications for various business units.

The Software Engineer will be work with existing IS resources, internal business users, and external vendors to build and enhance applications based on the requirements from the business users as well as from Data Management.

Responsibilities:
-          Responsible for working with various business groups and product leads to assist in gathering business requirements necessary for implementing enhancements or additional features to new and existing application.
 -          Architect, design, develop, deploy, and support new features or enhancements per business needs. This includes user interface, business services and backend database work.
 -          Development of technical documentation.
 -          Design data models and databases.
 -          Work with Engineering to design and build infrastructure necessary to run the applications.

Requirements:
1.     Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules and assignments.
2.     Good organization skills with strong attention to detail.
3.     Strong analytical thinking and excellent troubleshooting.
4.     Familiarity with project management and application development principles.
5.     Must possess ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
6.     Experience working in a team development environment
7.     Strong experience developing on the Microsoft stack: C#, ASP.Net, MVC, Entity Framework, Workflow Foundation, and SQL Server.
8.     Experience building web UIs with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
9.     Familiarity with object oriented design principles, dependency injection, design patterns, and test driven development.
10.  Experience with Visual Studio 2013.
11.  Knowledge of financial services industry is strong plus.
12.  Experience with TFS is a plus.
13.  Degree in Management Information System or Computer Science a plus.

He/she must be a talented, results-oriented individual. This job will be based at Palo Alto, San Francisco.

 Description:

As Development Lead you will be responsible for delivering high-quality releases of the product, owning challenges encountered throughout the development cycle and driving them to resolution.  You will guide the development team while working with QA, Product Management, and the product architect.  At the same time, you will have hands-on design and coding responsibilities. 

Qualifications:
  • Proven work experience in developing a Data Integration or ETL product 
  • Ten years of enterprise application development experience
  • Must be motivated and passionate, leading by example by contributing to the development of the software itself
  • Experience in developing in the C# / .NET 4.0 or Java / JVM environment

FILLED | Web Developer with Ruby on Rails experience: Contract to hire


We are searching for a Senior Web Developer for our client in Palo Alto, California.  This role must be onsite, and has potential to convert to a permanent position.

Responsibilities
·        Work in a small agile team to deliver a suite of web tools to enable merchandising and content discovery in their device and application ecosystem.
·        Develop full stack, solid web 2.0 applications using Rails and Javascript.
·        Play a key role in the design (code / UI) and development of new features
·        Wow your customers with innovative solutions that make using the tools easy and delightful – customer value is more important than lines of code.
·        Requirements
·        Strong understanding of web application architecture, and be able to contribute in different areas of the web-stack (i.e., frontend, backend, APIs, web services).
·        Solid JavaScript knowledge – Javascript, JQuery required.
·        Solid Ruby on Rails knowledge (Rails 3.2.x required).
·        Experience using git.
·        At home in a small, self-driven, team environment.  No large engineering teams; no waterfall.
·        Able to execute on tasks with a minimum amount of direction.
·        Collaborative work style – no fear of pair-programming – like feedback on your designs/code.


Nice to Haves
·        Expert JavaScript knowledge, Coffeescript experience even better. You should ideally be as comfortable on the front end as you are on the back end.
·        Expert Rails 3.2.x knowledge. You’ve already started dabbling with Ruby 2/Rails 4.
·        Strong knowledge of HTML5 & CSS3 (bonus points for HAML and SASS experience; you know and love compass)
·        Have a good eye for design... you don’t need to be a designer, but you do need to know what a good UI looks like, and like to create it.
Bonus Points
·        Have experience with Mootools, Backbone, Foundation, Bootstrap
·        Have a public github account with Ruby/Rails or Javascript projects
·        Habit of discovering and exploring new gems, frameworks, etc. in the Rails and JS dev communities.
·        Have experience as a technical leader on agile projects

Website Marketing Operations (ON HOLD UNTIL Q1)

Our client in San Francisco is seeking a Manager of Website Operations to drive the strategic direction and implementation of multiple web properties. The Manager of Website Operations will work closely with business stakeholders to interpret marketing and business strategies and determine how they are best represented online to bring large volumes of web visitors, educate them, and converts them into leads.  You will work with developers to create highly scalable and flexible websites.

The ideal candidate has expertise in analytics, search engine marketing, user experience, user interface, information architecture, project management, product management and creative design. You must be technical enough to implement and test web analytics and code CSS, HTML, Javascript and basic php. You must be strategic enough to implement a search engine marketing (SEM) strategy and turn the website into a lead machine.

Responsibilities:

o    Development of a long-term front-end and back-end strategy for multiple web properties serving different audiences
o    Implementation of complex CMS (experience with WordPress and/or Drupal preferred), with specific experience developing and managing a project plan, developing a budget, securing resources, working with APIs and at least some direct experience theming and/or coding.
o    Implementation of web analytics, A/B testing platforms and expert understanding of how to turn data into actionable plans that drive web traffic and conversions.
o    Creation and implementation of SEM and content marketing strategies to drive web traffic and conversions.
o    Experience with responsive design and mobile websites.
o    Experience with forums, application marketplaces, and eCommerce shopping carts.
o    Strong creative director, able to take feedback on own designs and provide feedback to other designers.
o    Experience integrating marketing automation and CRM with a CMS website
o    Intimately familiar with Google Webmaster Tools


Qualifications:
o    Bachelor’s degree; M.B.A. preferred
o    5+ years of web marketing/ web strategy experience, leading large and complex web projects in a high-velocity B2B setting
o    Ability to think strategically as well as willingness to roll-up-sleeves and do ‘whatever it takes’ to meet individual and company goals
o    Results-driven with exceptional detail and knowledge around metrics, specifically A/B testing and ROI analysis
o    Understanding of HTML, basic image editing functions
o    Strong experience using Marketing Automation (Marketo) and CRM (Salesforce.com). Managed programs from start to finish - strategy, execution and measurement
o    Results focused - able to track and measure effectiveness of all programs
o    Excellent communication, writing, and project management skills
o    Familiar with Google Analytics
