We are searching for a Senior Web
Developer for our client in Palo Alto, California. This role must be
onsite, and has potential to convert to a permanent position.

·
Work in a small agile team to deliver a suite of web tools to
enable merchandising and content discovery in their device and application
ecosystem.
·
Develop full stack, solid web 2.0 applications using Rails and
Javascript.
·
Play a key role in the design (code / UI) and development of new
features
·
Wow your customers with innovative solutions that make using the
tools easy and delightful – customer value is more important than lines of code.
·
Requirements
·
Strong understanding of web application architecture, and be
able to contribute in different areas of the web-stack (i.e., frontend,
backend, APIs, web services).
·
Solid JavaScript knowledge – Javascript, JQuery required.
·
Solid Ruby on Rails knowledge (Rails 3.2.x required).
·
Experience using git.
·
At home in a small, self-driven, team environment. No
large engineering teams; no waterfall.
·
Able to execute on tasks with a minimum amount of direction.
·
Collaborative work style – no fear of pair-programming – like
feedback on your designs/code.
Nice to Haves
·
Expert JavaScript knowledge, Coffeescript experience even
better. You should ideally be as comfortable on the front end as you are on the
back end.
·
Expert Rails 3.2.x knowledge. You’ve already started dabbling
with Ruby 2/Rails 4.
·
Strong knowledge of HTML5 & CSS3 (bonus points for HAML
and SASS experience; you know and love compass)
·
Have a good eye for design... you don’t need to be a designer,
but you do need to know what a good UI looks like,
and like to create it.
Bonus Points
·
Have experience with Mootools, Backbone, Foundation, Bootstrap
·
Have a public github account with Ruby/Rails or Javascript
projects
·
Habit of discovering and exploring new gems, frameworks, etc. in
the Rails and JS dev communities.
