FILLED | HR / Office Manager

We are searching for a talented individual for our client in Oakland.  This company is a small business in need of a well rounded person that can wear multiple hats and work well with others.  

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the office, in addition to managing the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Manager carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment.

The Human Resources Manager originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

This person must also be able to adjust communication to wide range of people within the company - President, all levels of employees and vendors.

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all or part of these areas:

  • Recruiting and staffing logistics;
  • Performance Management and improvement systems;
  • Basic organizational development;
  • Employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting;
  • Employee orientation, development, and training;
  • New hire process (experience with immigration issues is a PLUS)
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Employee relations;
  • Company employee communication;
  • Organizational and space planning which may involve ordering equipment for employees
  • Assisting with Compensation and benefits administration;
  • Promote employee safety, welfare, wellness and health by developing a wellness plan
  • Employee services and counseling.
  • Assisting accounting with payroll processing as needed
  • Be responsible for ordering and supplying office and break room supplies (including snacks in kitchen)

REQUIRED SKILLS
·         3-5 years of HR Generalist or Manager experience
·         Knowledge of Federal, State and Local HR law
·         Excellent oral and written communication
·         Ability to work well both independently and as a team
·         Professional and confidential approach in handling all employee related matters

·         Attention to detail
